Masher: effects & skins
Masher is a Flash powered social video app that allows people to make and share videos using uploaded and stock clips and then overlay special effects and graphics. We were brought in to provide a host of new special effects and themes that could plug in to their existing architecture.
The Masher team had a set of specific requirements for each filter and effect and it was our job to meet those requirements creatively and produce the best looking effect for the smallest possible file size. This was then packaged it up as a super-lightweight file that could be dropped into the main app and interface seamlessly with the Masher tool.
Making good use of third-party ActionScript animation libraries and some clever code-driven image manipulation, we were able to produce exactly what was needed for this brief quickly and efficiently. This helped keep development time and cost to a minimum and allowed the Masher team to quickly see the effects in-app, whilst any amends were simple and quick to implement. Creatively driven but technically cutting-edge, this is another Flash project that suits the Peg team down to the ground and we look forward to doing more for Masher in the future. Result
